Martin Custom D Classic Rosewood Acoustic GuitarThe simple appointments of the Martin D-15 Custom Acoustic Guitar and its modest price makes it reminiscent of the 15 Series guitars of the 1940s. This model eschews vintage all-mahogany construction for a select solid Sitka spruce top with lighter bracing for big projection and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides that produce ringing punch and sustain. The modified low-oval mahogany neck is set with a mortise-and-tenon neck joint and has an adjustable truss rod and solid Indian rosewood fingerboard. The body and neck are bound in tortoise-colored binding. It also has a rosewood bridge, dot fretboard inlays, rosewood headstock overlay, and an inlaid single-ring rosette. Quantities of this custom Martin acoustic guitar are limited.

I recently purchased this guitar and was blown away by the incredible sound and playability she yields. The low end is amazing and it has a very warm, balanced tone. The projection and sustain is comparable to higher end Martins and this one actually sounds better than a 1964 D-28 that my father-in-law was letting me borrow. I was skeptical about the tuners but after some pretty harsh treatment they are holding true. It's a very simple looking guitar, no frills, but it's the best deal around for the sound she produces. I wouldn't buy another Martin. This is definitely the best bang for the buck!
I have been playing this guitar for almost two years, had it "adjusted" once, a year ago, and have had no problems. The sound of the instrument "opened up" a few months back, and friends have commented how nice it sounds. Although known for its treble sounds, it has plenty of base. I play it 2-3 hours a day and enjoy it each time I open the case. The smell of the rosewood is nice too and is still strong. You'll be happy with this gutiar.
