I've tried the mxr distortion +, boss overdrive, turbo overdrive, and metalzone one and two, various DOD pedals, etc. This one blows them all away. Flat line eq treatment, unless you want bias in which case you have four dials to do it with. Great output, low noise but there is some. Way better than the govnor. I'd like to try a big muff one of these days, but until then I don't see myself replacing this pedal. Just make sure you set it to overdrive as the distortion option sounds muted.

Really a GREAT PEDAL! Overdrive is amazing. I USE IT WITH A FENDER BLUE'S DELUXE TUBE AMP AND AN IBANEZ UNIVERSE. IT SOUNDS VERY VERY GOOD!

I bought this pedal in hopes to get a more authoritative sound from my puny 15 watt amp. Well let me tell you, IT DID! This pedal is stunning and strong. There are a lot of different sounds you can get from it and it helps you to create your own distinct sound. It had a hard metal shell around it which is great for if you bang it around. I highly recommend purchasing this pedal.

All I can say is the Jackhammer is by far the BEST Overdrive/Distortion pedal I've ever used! As others have said, it blows anything Boss, Rat, or Ibanez has out of the water. The sound is very natural and can go from subtle to knock-the-walls-down distortion.
