This pedal is a wet dream. It can boost or cut seven times the output. Mid, bass, and high sliders can put out any tone shape(fat distortion to Stevie tone) so buy one or your tone will be that much less and you WILL be sorry.

This thing is built like a tank and well worth the money versus other EQ pedals. I bought this as my first EQ pedal and have absolutely no regrets. Its helps you shape your tone as you would expect without additional noise or cost.

"Don't sound like everybody else. MXR EQ will dial in your original tone quick and easy"

I recorded the guitars for my first three albums through a line 6 pod XT or XT live directly to Protools. Line 6 is amazing but it doesn't matter what guitar you play or what amp you use, you end up sounding like line 6. On my new album I am recording, I have gone all organic. I am using a Fender Hotrod Deville 410 (amazing!); a Vox AC30 (very cool), a TC Electronic G-System, (super clean), plus a Tube Screamer, Sans Amp Tri-AC and the MXR EQ. A engineer in Dublin, Ireland turned me onto the MXR EQ in some sessions I just did. I purchased it and recorded the rest of my guitars in just 3 days because the tone was at my fingertips with this impressive, small stomp box EQ. It will be with my set up from now on.

I saw this eq pedal that didn't cost as much as some pedals and decided to go for it. I'm glad I did. I have a hollowbody that sounds chunky sometimes and the eq pedal helps me miniimize that quality. Also I have extra lights on it because I don't play as much. The eq pedal helps me get a bright sound while minimizing the "tin can effect" of extra light strings. Not too shabby...
