I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR 10 YEARS I HAVE HAD THIS SET FOR 7 IT IS A GREAT SET AND I RECONNDED IT TO ANYONE

I think this set is one of the best. I own a 1965 version, and I love the way it sounds. It brings back the old days of jazz drumming.

I was pleased that Ludwig re-issued the kit, but displeased that they included foreign made hardware as part of the tom mounting system. It may not seem like a big deal to some, but it sort of took some of the glory away from the overall effect this kit represents. I understand that the other hardware (stands, pedals, etc. ) is foreign made and I accept that a little easier. Also inlays on the bass hoops would have been better than "off the shelf" stock black ones. The heads are for decoration only and truly represent period type heads. Any real drummer will replace these with modern ones. I was impressed with the fact that the 8 x 12 was "double badged" so a right or left hand player could have a logo facing forward, but I wish the serial numbered badge would have been on the typical right hand players side. Now, as for the sound. It's incredible and the craftsmanship on this kit is second to none! I'm overall pleased with the kit and would recommend it to all.

This set is a great follow up on the 60's version of the "fab four" kit. I've played quite a few Ludwigs from that era, and this one stays true to that great sound I have to say that they have only made this kit better with the additional hardware. That is actually one of the downfalls of the old sets, with their "bolt and screw" tom mounts, I found the hardware difficult to work with. This set works well for the jazz musician, or the rock drummer who wants a stripped down gig kit I recommend this for beginners to advanced players as well!

I was shocked by this drum. I own a 60 one as well and there is big difference. The new Ludwig sound so much better! Unbelievable! You have to have this set ASAP!!!!!!!!!!
