"Doors Open" by Abe

If you are not too familiar with the world of amplifies, then this will open doors for you. I own both the POD and PODxt and I was amazed by this PODxt. I was looking for an amp that would be versatile, play many different tones but I saw this at a concert and I liked it. I was disappointed with the first POD but this one revolutionized my playing. If you are an intermediate player and don't stick with just one style, then this is what you are looking for. Many amps to chose from and tons of effects to go with it. Twice as good as the first POD.

"Best piece of equipment I've ever used for recording." by K.M.

My band was recording a new album, and we've diligently searched for the perfect tone for what we had in mind, similar to that of guitar tone of the "Heartwork" album by Carcass. This not only nailed it, but it actually sounds better in my opinion. A big claim to make, but try it out and you'll see the line6podxt backs it up, 100%. The tone I got with this makes it so that no matter how much you crank it, it still doesn't hurt your ears. And that's just ONE of the many settings I use it for. (Also used as a vocal pre-amp). I will use this thing until it either breaks, or I die. Which ever comes first.

"Great Tone High Price!" by StratocasterMaster

Overall the Pod XT is a great tone machine for the home studio or even gigging (with the optional and also very expensive foot controller). I found it very easy to use and sounding great right out of the box. But if you are buying it for direct recording through your usb port on your computer good luck. It requires extensive setup and user upgrades just to get the connection going. Then it still might not be compatible with your recording software. It works great with Acid Pro 4.0 but I still cannot get it to work with Home Studio 2002. And if you are looking to use pod xt's deep editing features by way of your computer, good luck. as of today they still have not released a software program to allow it. If you want killer tone and can afford the $399 price tag, Go For It!

"Line 6 has done it again!" by Nathan S

At first I was a bit skeptical about buying one of these... I simply didn't believe that the PODxt could do everything people said it could. Boy how wrong I was! It has amazing versatile and can dial in almost any tone imaginable. I also love the realism of the modeled amplifiers. It creates all the warmth and power of vintage tube amps with amazing accuracy. I also love the effects and factory presets. Do yourself a favor and buy one of these wondergadgets as soon as possible!!

"Great for the money, but quickly outgrown" by Ross Handler

After a few years of playing a squire on a practice amp, I decided to get myself some quality gear. I got a new guitar and amp. Rather than spend 600+ dollars on the pedals, I tried the Pod XT. It performs very well with distorted sounds (I love the Soldano 100) but marginally impersonates fender tube amps and lightly distorted classic amps like the Vox AC30. Until you know exactly what kind of gear you want to get, this is a fantastic alternative, filling that need for gadgets and ways to shape your tone. I don't think I would use this product live, for two reasons: first, when turned up loud enough for live playing, the uniqueness of the various amp settings wanes, giving you a half hearted version of the real thing. Secondly, I love my wah pedal, and when I run the two together, the sound is horrendous; I can barely hear myself playing over the ambient noise. The Pod XT simply isn't designed to work in a series with other effects, but rather as a single unit. For beginning guitar players who want to play around with effects and tones, this is a good solution.
