The 7-1/4" and 8-5/8" natural rawhide heads have been hand-picked for quality. LP Galaxy Giovanni Series Wood Bongos have a steel backing plate to help avoid cracks occurring in the bongo shell that can develop when players in the Salsa genre drop their bongos to the floor and begin playing their bongo cowbell.
All LP Galaxy Giovanni Series Wood Bongos have 5/16" diameter tuning lugs carefully formed to hug the shell making them as comfortable for playing as possible and are complimented with plated cast aluminum bottoms.
