I first tried all the cute; colorful recorders, which didn't play in tune, and I spent much time super-gluing them back together where the mouthpieces had fallen apart. I've been using these instruments for 3 or 4 years now. I use them as a classroom set, and purchase them for those children who wish to buy their own. They are WONDERFUL! The tone is excellent, and they are built to last.
