Better than any Selmer and Yanagisawa in the world.
Plays great but the pads are sticking. This was a major problem during gigs! They use impregnated leather, which seems to cause the problem. After replacement the problem was more or less solved. The sax has NO rolled toneholes, but rings mounted.Sound is great. Can only recommend it.
The tone that comes from an SX90R is incredible. It is so rich and full, and the craftsmanship is great. The rolled tone holes are an added plus, they keep the pads from sticking. I know we could all use a vacation from putting the old dollar bill under the g# key. The SX90R is a very versatile instrument. One can produce a classical sound as well as a jazz sound with ease.
Not being a professional, but a student of jazz, I studies all the instruments, their structure and their manufacturing techniques before I purchased this sax. Everyone (teachers and professionals) agrees that this horn is amazing! The sound is clear and crisp, sometimes is sounds like a French horn, the tone is so beautiful. This sax is a top of the line Keilwerth and I can recommend it to anyone who is serious about a great instrument. It is worth the investment.
This is one of the finest horns I've ever played on. it has a superb sound and the key work is easy to operate. I hope Keilwerth comes out with more horns like this one.
