I have been playing fiddle for 20 years and this is the rosin I use all the time. I tried many others in the past and I can not tell much difference with the helicore strings I use. I like the wooden box and cardboard box it comes in, that makes it very easy to use. Just scratch the rosen with a knife blade tip to get it ready to use. This helps the bow pick up the rosin faster. Price cant be beat either.
Great stuff, works well, does its job. Sorry, tried this on an electric guitar, NOT a violin or viola Was having difficulty getting a very very long sustain for ambient music and sounds. After playing around with various echo and other effects decided to try a violin bow. Well, while it worked well on a Glasser bow with a Stratocaster guitar, afraid I can't truly give an objective opinion for violin or viola. Guitar strings are supposed to be much harder to use with a bow and rosin, because they're wound differently. The strings aren't really made for a bow, fortunately it was an electric guitar.I'd read that a bow doesn't grab guitar strings very well. However it did work well under the very non optimal operating conditions. So if this helps for additional info it held up well and works great. But again hard to compare to how it would work with its intended instruments.
