Jupiter 582L Intermediate TubaThe Jupiter 582 Intermediate Tuba
A very unique design with may rewardsThis is a very well thought out instrument that is well designed. the open wrap of the valve tubing virtually eliminates sharp bends so that the air/sound will flow in a smoother fashion. The horn is comfortable to hold and the valves are reachable for people with smaller hands. Great sound is produced by this tuba, with a substantial low register. A section of these will really start to worry your trombone players.

I use this tuba for a wind ensemble band and it is beautiful. It is very easy to play two octaves with and isn't heavy. I recommend this tuba to all who wan to play!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well after coming off the Weril J580 from brazil and going the Jupiter 582L kind of didn't like it because the sound wasn't as dark as the Weril, and plus after going from a 3/4 to a 4/4 it was very hard. The hardest thing for me though was that when I tested out both of them the 582L had a quick response witch is suppose to be good but I really don't like that in a horn.I like the pressure in the weril witch made it have a darker sound witch maybe sounds strange, but I don't know, maybe its just me?? Please someone tell me what it is.
as a high school junior who was looking for something better than what the school had to offer and something that would carry me into college, the great thing about this tuba is its affordable, ive been playing it for over a year and love it, for someone who likes to play but not too serious about it this tuba will do the trick
This Jup tuba is fairly good. The tuba is a nice full-size and produces a nice sound, but I find it a bit oddly shaped and a bit chunky. I like how the tubing on this tuba is shaped and placed, as when you place it on its bell, the crooks (tuning slides) all face downward making it easy to empty. None the less its a good tuba and I would recommend it to students in highschool.
I have had this horn for about 3 months now, and it gets better every day. After using a 3/4 tuba, this a great change, I highly recommend this tuba for all music. I have used it for classical, jazz, Latin, and funk, and it works great!
