I have been a Suzuki-method flute instructor for 28 years and have used Jupiter curved-headjoint flutes ever since they were first manufactured. Although they were not the first brand to offer curved headjoints, I have found them to have the best tone of all the brands that I have tried. For the littlest students, I recommend the "Prodigy" model, but the 515S is my choice for the average-sized students aged 7-10.
This is a cute little flute that still has the sound of a more expensive flute. My daughter played one of these for three years before she out-grew the recurved head and small-hand adjustments at age 11. We never had a bit of trouble with it. The same flute is now being played by a 9 year old, and she is very happy with it. The private teacher was pleased with the sound quality.
