I was pleased with the sound of the instrument, although with the supplied mouthpiece it was too tight. Sounds better with a 3 or larger mpc. Harder to play than a trumpet because of motion and intonation. Fun for blues glisses in 1 to 4th positions. Overall, a fun horn for the money. The slide works fine, the case is well made and the finish is solid.

I love this instrument. Its a rare bargain for such a high quality instrument. It sounds awesome. It is awesome. The price is awesome! What more can you ask for? I use this instrument for the band that I'm in, and it adds a superior solo voice for some of our songs! I recommend this product to just about anyone.

I love my soprano trombone! It impresses my friends and it is fun to play in a trombone ensamble or jazz setting. It's very small and cute. I put a sticker that says "Livin' Large" on the case!

As many others have mentioned, I originally purchased this trombone not expecting much. Once I tried it out, however, I realized that this was a thing to be reckoned with. It has substantial range and suprisingly good tone. The free shipping was a plus, along with the nice case. For the price, this is definitely a worthwile investment for any serious musician. Tuning on the instrument is difficult, but with some practice it is not an issue. You can't bend your tone as on a tenor trombone, mostly because of the smaller mouthpiece. For the beginner soprano trombone player, I suggest purchasing a larger mouthpiece until you get used to it.

This instrument is A+++. It is NOT a toy. The slide is great, the case is very nice, the finish...nothing less than anything you'd expect from any pro instrument. All it needs is a player with discerning ears (pitch) and the motivation to practice to learn the idiosyncrasies of this fine instrument. The value is awesome....Take the time to give it your utmost consideration.

"Fun, but intonation is frustrating"

It is a well made and well finished horn. Fairly comfortable to hold and play. Slide is OK, but not great (the slide is so short/light that it's not really the issue it would be on a tenor). After playing the horn for about a week, I realized that it would take years to get solid on the pitch, especially as the notes in each slide position don't "notch-up" well (per my ear and an electronic tuner). Those slide adjustments we make on tenor or bass bones to get in tune are really difficult on this horn (like oversteering on a car). As this is the only slide trumpet I've played, I'll presume this is inherent to them, but this is something to note if you're thinking it will be an easy transition to play this horn.

"The best soprano trombone I've ever played"

This is my primary instrument. Its all I need, and all I will ever need. I chose this over both the regular tenor trombone and valved Bb trumpet (both of which I had every chance to play in band) due partially to the fact that this instrument makes me feel like I'm holding my future. I highly recommend this product.

This horn has the versatility of a larger tenor trombone. I have played professionally now for 20 years and bought this horn as a "TOY". Initially, it took a little getting used to the smaller mouthpiece. Overall, this is a quality horn that works great in achieving the upper stratosphere notes not often achieved by the basic tenor trombone. For the true trombone enthusiast, this is well worth the money.
