Amazing tonal color that rings clear both acoustically and plugged in. Wonderful action. Slightly narrower neck profile for fast playing. Great for flamenco, Jazz, classical, etc.
Ramirez is to guitars, what BMW is to cars. You cannot go wrong when purchasing one of these. The tonal qualities of this guitar are wonderful and distinctive of Ramirez, and the ease of play is superb. No other guitar, made on earth, produces tones like Ramirez. This guitar has power and resonance all the way down to fret #19..However, if you are over 15 and are serious about playing classical or flamenco make sure you buy a 54mm neck. These come in 52mm and most of the time they are 50mm neck. This is good enough for jazz and pop and rock but not for playing pieces such as Recuerdos. But, if you are not into classical/Spanish you should not be looking into Ramirez anyway.
I have searched for a great classical guitar for a year. The Cordoba RCWE was very nice, however they all had a slight intonation problem on the second (b) string. When I played the Ramirez 2CWE, I was in awe. Clearly this was the one. Beautiful separation from the bass, middle, and high strings. Perfect intonation throughout and nice action. A bit pricey, but if you want the goods, you've got to spend a little more.
You need to have been playing for awhile when trying to make this instrument sing. Any error will sound awful, in the beginning it is like a like a wild mustang, but when you have mastered it, is it totally wonderful. Nothing can compare to a Ramirez!
I have been very fortunate to have experienced the very best of classical guitars throughout my 30 odd years of playing and this guitar has to be played to be believed. The ease of playability, the projection of sound and the superb quality make it a 'must have' for the serious classical or jazz.Don't be put off by the price, its almost a gift!
