I bought this guitar as my first as well, but after playing it 3 years, I'm getting a lot of string buzz. Maybe it's just getting old since it was a cheap guitar??? Also, the sound has a very very BRIGHT tone so if your looking for a bassy deep tone, stick with a Mahogany.I guess it's okay for a first, but when you get more experience, you'll want to move up for sure.

I got this for Xmas around 8 months ago and i must say, i love it. The gloss black finish is absolutely beautiful, however, like all black finishes, its hard to keep clean. Just buy some polish. I'll just run over some of the basics. Pickups/Electronics The sound is very bright, but the onboard electronics are extremely good and you just need to turn the treble down most of the way and you can achieve that awesome accoustic sound. However, like any accoustic electric guitar, if you don't run it through an accoustic amp, you may get a bass vibration, aka feedback. Just keep the volume and the bass down around 6 on the guitar to avoid this. Neck/Action The neck is awesome, skinny enough to move around for cool accoustic solos, but thick enough to easily pull of chords or, more importantly, barre chords. The action right out of the box was unbelievable, in fact I haven't changed it at all. Tuners The tuners on this thing are pretty good, they have a little give, where the tuner might turn but it doesnt change the tuning, but you can just tighten them up a little if it bugs you. Its really not that big of a deal. But they are very precise and work great, I only have to tune this thing about once a week if I play everday. Looks/Perrrtiness Simply put, this thing is beautiful, especially the gloss black. Hope this helped! -Tone Obbsession

I purchased this guitar after returning to Oscar Schmidt OE40's because I knew I could trust the Ibanez label, and I knew I would have a hard time beating the price. This guitar plays well out of the box, but really needs a new set of strings. The preamp and 2 band EQ are simple Ibanez electrics that work very well, and I think my guitar, which is in a natural stain, looks great.

The Ibanez acoustic/electric v-series is a great guitar. Sounds nice out of the box. Great feel plugged in or just played in your room. The only thing wrong with the guitar is the loose wire inside keep buzzing against the side body. Also the guitar comes with 2 ivorex saddles, but they are both some what high.

I bought this guitar for my first acoustic electric and I feel smart by choosing this one. This guitar is everything I wanted. Great gloss black finish and the sound blew me away. The strings have great action with no buzz at all, and the onboard electronics are fabulous. It sounds SPECTACULAR plugged into my Marshall amp, or unplugged. Either way, it sounds amazing. Makes me feel like a better guitar player. If you buy this guitar, you will not be disappointed in the slightest. Great guitar. Great sound. Great price.
