Ibanez TS7 Tubescreamer Pedal
The Tube Screamer

All Tone-Lok Products
For three decades, Ibanez electronics has been creating effects that the working player could afford to buy but couldn't afford to live without. On the exterior, all Tone-Lok effects are equipped with Ibanez's exclusive "set and forget" Push-Lok rotary pots. By simply pushing the knobs down, you will lock your tone settings securely inside the case. This helps to eliminate the possibilities of lost settings or broken knobs. As for the interior, Tone-Lok pedals feature high-fidelity components carefully tweaked with the constant input from a new generation of guitar players. Finally, for a great appearance, each pedal comes encased in a cool looking, road tough metal box to guarantee style and protection.

The Latest Generation of Tube Screamer
Often imitated but never duplicated is the popular Ibanez Tubescreamer. This piece isn't just another stompbox, it's an institution. With its classic subtle-but-smooth overdrive, the Tubescreamer expands the expressiveness of your guitar while maintaining its tonal integrity. If you are looking to adjust the tone, just use the traditional three knob configuration with an added "hot" switch for an extra gain boost. This is truly a classic piece with a touch of flash to excite new players as well as veteran rockers.

NEW - "Hard to beat for the price"

I picked up one of these, used, on a whim. I thought it would be an interesting thing to add occasionally, as my tube amp already has separate gain/volume. I use it all the time! (Not on 100%, but not a week goes by w/o using it.) I'm sure there are better pedals, but reasonably quiet, and I like the TS9 and Hot modes. If the output of the two was a bit more balanced it would be easier to use, but still a nice option. Switch got a little unreliable, but it was just the little rubber gizmo glued to the pedal that shifted off to the side. Surprisingly rugged for the price.

I bought this pedal to get the highest amount of distortion available. I use this pedal with my Grx720. This Pedal Rocks! Its great, from every aspect that you look at it. I love it.

i just bought the TS7 and can not put it down. The fat tube tone mixed with the heavy distortion makes great for soloing. There is no better pedal than this classic. I would recommend it to anyone.

The pedal sounds great but sometimes I'd like just a hint of distortion. Even with the distortion control at minimum, it's still too much. I don't know if it's my unit or characteristic of this model. Otherwise I find the pedal intuitive and easy to use. The sound is very smooth and tube-like in the lower distortion levels but will probably not appeal to folks who want heavier metal sound. The construction seems very solid. The popup/down controls are a good idea. I'd recommend it for blues and trad. rock.

One thing before I start,THIS IS NOT A DISTORTION UNIT! Many of the guys above talk about distortion and heavy metal. That is something this pedal has not got! This is an ultimate OVERDRIVE unit which gives the sound of a warm overdriven classA tube-amp. With the hot switch you get the flexibility of a five year old. You can thicken up your sound in case of hard rock, and scootch it down a little if needed. One puncture about this pedal though, you will NEVER get a clean tone with this running. You may have noticed on some of the overdrive pedals boss makes that when the drive is minimalized you get that kind of chunky, slightly overdriven tube sound. But with the TS7 you can forget about that. I'm running this through a Gibson Les Paul into a Spider II 212 and that is a nice combination! I have the TS7 set to a slight overdrive and with tone set at maximum which gives me that same old fuzz/overdrive sound from the Beatles. This needs a little bit of tweaking before getting started. You have to know what tone you are looking for because this pedal can go from the Beatles to tool and from tool to black label society. It's all a matter of tweaking. This is definitely a pedal every lead/rhythm guitar player needs to own. It's warm, it's screaming, it rocks and most of all it's a classic!
