Ibanez SM7 Smash Box PedalThe Smash Box
All Tone-Lok ProductsFor three decades, Ibanez electronics has been creating effects that the working player could afford to buy but couldn't afford to live without. On the exterior, all Tone-Lok effects are equipped with Ibanez's exclusive "set and forget" Lok rotary pots. By simply pushing the knobs down, you will lock your tone settings securely inside the case. This helps to eliminate the possibilities of lost settings or broken knobs. As for the interior, Tone-Lok pedals feature high-fidelity components carefully tweaked with the constant input from a new generation of guitar players. Finally, for a great appearance, each pedal comes encased in a cool looking, road tough metal box to guarentee style and protection.
The Smash BoxIf your playing style can best be described as extremely aggressive, than the Smashbox is the perfect pedal for you. It is armed with obscene amounts of gain, tight low end, and searing highs which make it the most agressive weapon in the Tone-Lok distortion arsenal. The Smashbox is the heavy rock sound for the contemporay guitarist.
Smash wimpy guitar tones with the SM7!
Who ever says this pedal has no heavy distortion, they are crazy and i love this pedal because you can get rid of any feed back of any sort and this pedal out does the BOSS MT2-METAL ZONE easily, why because the METAL ZONE PEDAL has a extra mid frequency knob that just adds more feed back and it's useless, and plus this pedal is half the price of the METAL ZONE PEDAL,OH by the way system of a down uses this pedal with A marshall amp head ,and mesa/boogie cabinets.
Its got really heavy distortion, you can get metallica style sounds easily. You might want to put the mids on your amp up though.
This pedal is not bad, as it has many cool devices, but misses the mark in sound and tone as it sounds shallow and lacks substance.
This is a nice pedal for anyone with a guitar, but Zoom kicks its buttocks
I don't know why people complain about this pedal! I like it, in the SMOOTH selection, when you lower the drive, you get a very sweet jazz riffing. However, on the SHARP selection, put the drive to 7+ you'll get a wicked, heavy-metal distortion. The real problem with the VOID-Noise reduction, is making a long harmonic sound, or any very long note. But that can be solved by lowering the VOID's level to 1. For conclusion, i say... buy it!!! very professional feel, and a good pricing!
