I tried lots of other guitars at this same price range after I had bought it and I'm happy that I did buy this. Quality is same as higher-end guitars, no flaws anywhere. Neck is awsome. Dependable tuners, (even if you use trem ) Actually, when I didn't use trem, it stayed in tune for 2 weeks. Strap buttons- good. 2 humbuckers allow you to play metal(bridge) and jazz(neck). Bridge has a VERY close tone to System of a Down 1st albums tone. Clean neck humbucker with some reverb sounds really good. Single Coil is good for punk, and has a very balanced tone if you want to play it like a plugged in acoustic guitar. I have installed DiMarzio tone zone in bridge, and believe or not, there are some songs in which stock pickup sounded better! Neck humbucker with distortion is too smooth and leads with it in my opinion sound not too good, however jazz sounds good enough. Action was a bit too high, but if you adjust truss rod, trem and everything, then you'll have no problem lowering it. One thing that my guitar has is unsmooth binding, but that doesn't trouble me. Given quality parts, wide possibilities of sounds, for the beginner to decide what he likes better, it's one of the best choices for the first guitar. For the first guitar I really recommend H-S-H pickup config, I wanted H-H, but I'm glad that I got this.

I originally bought this guitar for students that could not afford guitars of their own. A lot of people look at this guitar and because of its looks they automatically think heavy metal. This guitar has a lot more leverage then just that. I was amazed by the playability, and quality of the guitar. I have big names such as Jackson, Ovation, Fender, Washburn, and others. It is amazing though that a guitar of this price can actually compete and come close to being like one of those both in playing and in sound. it is a great guitar, and it only has one down fall which is that the tremolo is not a Floyd Rose locking, but with everything else that comes with it for the price you forget about that. The neck and frets make it good for much more other then just metal or rock. You can get a sweet sound from all the pick ups that will play well with just about any other type of music beyond rock. All I can really say is buy it for the price it plays close to a top line rather then most others for the same price.
