This is a great mute for beginners. It has a vibrant tone, it doesn't fall out, and its easy to use. It's very easy to blow through, but still creates a wonderful sound. I would greatly recommend this for beginners and pros.
This mute is fairly good. It does not have the same sort of sound as a metal straight but it is good for certain situations. Not so good in the 'big band' setting but in others it is fine.
This mute is very appropriate for music that requires a regular straight mute. Unlike other mutes, it allows the player to play without much resistance and the tone is wonderful. I've been using Humes and Berg mutes for a while but this mute is one of the best out there. The aluminum straight also has the same qualities as the stonelined but with a sharper buzzier sound. The aluminum is more appropriate for "Big Band" use but the stonelined straight gets's any job done with relative ease. Furthermore I highly recommend these mutes for any player who wants a truly great mute for one fourth the price. Straight mutes an be found for less but they are usually polymer and don't give you that great desired tone of your instrument. All in All, this is a great mute appropriate for pros and beginners!
