This is great instrument for people who like non-shrilling notes, and who like to play simple melodies for fun. Sound of this particular instrument resembles mix of accordion and concertina-very unusual and pleasing sound indeed. It doesn’t sound harmonica like at all, and I play harmonica occasionally, so I know what I am talking about. Now the bad; if you never played wind instrument in your life (recorder, whistle, flute any of them) at the very beginning you will have hard time with breath pressure coordination. Very often melodica plays it best when you breath in it as if it is recorder or flute. But do not worry-melodica is much easier to play than say flute. I personally play recorder, guitar, harmonica and violin (all of them not professionally of course) and let me tell you the truth-melodica takes less effort to play than any of them. Highly recommend
