First this is an all clean head..meaning no onboard distortion! Similar to a Marshall SLP in tone..except Hiwatt has more headroom and provides a glassy clean tone I have only heard out of an original Matchless Chieftan, It is truly unbelievable! I play through a Les Paul and this head is amazing! Put a nice tube distortion (An Ibanez Tube King or similar) in your effects chain to the amp and..well..dont say I didnt tell you what tone SHOULD be!! All around I give this a 10!! 5 stars dont do this justice! And as most people say, "Its so expensive!" Well with any good electronics..you get what you pay for!! Very true!
