The tone of a hallow body through a tube amp is unbeatable. I use a Fender dual showman (tube) with a Marshall stack.
I had been looking for a jazz hollow body along the lines of the early greats, but when I saw and played this beauty, I had to have it. At first, I wasn't a huge fan of the colors, but after spending an hour and a half testing it out, I was in love. This baby plays like a dream, it looks amazing, sounds great, and it definitely stands out on stage. I recommend this guitar fully.
I bought my first Gretsch (Sparkle Jet) a couple of years ago and I have never looked back. My Strat, Tele and Les Paul are all cool guitars, but I can get every range of Tone out this Gretsch that I do for all of them. I was not too sure about the color but it does grow on you after a while. People seem to love it when I'm on stage. And nothing beats that Gretsch Tone and Sound whether I am grooving some Jazz and Driving some Rock. This guitar is a dream and a true Cadillac. If you have the money, I recommend buying one. I know I will be getting one of the Gretsch Hot Rod series next.
