In 1961, the traditional Les Paul Standard received a makeover that included a thinner body with sharply pointed horns and eventually a new name-the SG. Today's reissue features the small pickguard and nickel-plated hardware of the 1961 original.

This guitar is awesome. Gibson did a fabulous job on this new breed of Les Pauls. A bit pricey, but worth it. I have experienced no problems with this guitar. It has two 57' humbuckers, which are excellent. It also gives a stronger tone in the clean channel compared to the best guitars. I recommend buying it.

Having had an original SG back in the 60's, which I sold in the 70's,(which I regret)I purchased the'61 reissue and fell in love with it again like the first time! She's a real performer and a favorite in my collection of guitars.

I have owned this guitar for a year now and am still blown away buy it. The quality of the instrument is unbelievable, all hardware is top notch and precise. The '57 pickups have an absolutely amazing tone. It can produce any tone from super clean to dirty crunch to screaming solos. This guitar also has the best neck I have ever played on. Beware though, it is a bit wider than most other guitars. Personally this makes my playing much more accurate. If you are looking for a light weight, great looking, professional guitar this is it. Gibson is the best.

Whenever you buy a guitar you buy for the sound. This guitar has one of the most clear sounds you will ever get from a Gibson SG. If you want high quality, this is it.

This guitar has a sound like no other. It has a very rich sound, unlike Squier. If you want a great Guitar, this is the one to get.
