This guitar plays great, of coarse. It is a Gibson Les Paul after all. If you like a nice polished finish this guitar is not for you. The finish is appealing to me personally, it fits my playing style nicely. It sounds fantasitc. You want a guitar like the rock n' roll greats played? This is it. The real deal. Take your time and pick a nice one. Frets could use some sanding on the top side of mine. Not a biggy. This guitar is a great deal and also the SG faded. Peace.

This guitar is awsome. I've always thought the LP Studios looked kinda weird with no binding but this one looks really cool. More importantly it plays and sounds really cool. The Burstbucker Pros are raunchy and loud. The neck pickup doesn't have that singing quality that the 490R on the regular Studios has but it has it's own cool sound and the bridge pickup is a killer. The neck is fantastic. I don't know if they've changed the spec but I wouldn't call it rounded. It's pretty thin. The mahogany top is a little darker than a regular LP but it's not that noticible. Try several out as there can be a big difference in sound and feel. Some are really light-almost like an SG, some are heavier, some are darker, some are brighter (of those I played the lighter weight ones were darker sounding. This is a players guitar. Why pay a bunch of extra money for a flashy guitar that doesn't sound any better?

I love this guitar I've owned it since may and I can't say enough good things about it. It makes me want to play guitar. I've owned i for eight months and I still think about playing it while I'm at work and will take it out and play it in the middle of the night if I can't sleep.
