This is the rolls royce of guitars. Pro: Tone, sustane, and general playability of the guitar cannot be beat. The best guitar I've played hands down! Con: The price!
There is no other guitar that can even compare to the Les Pauls sound. The crisp somewhat distorted sound that we've all heard from the bands of Led Zeppelin and Guns n' Roses and many, many others is one of a kind. The only guitar that I'd recommend over this one is the Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul Model but I don't know anybody that has 7,000$ to spend. This has a very distinct sound that is unmistakable and if you can get this guitar, GET IT!!
Great guitar. The sustain, the feel, the look, the versatility, and the tone are unmatched.
It's all about controlling the tone and the amp you play through to get some great sounds out of the Gibson LP Classic. I really like the Open Coil Humbuckers. They scream when you want them too... May be too much crunch for some but you can go from a classic Creedence to Heavy Metal real quick. The slim taper neck is excellent. It is amazing how much faster I can play with it. It' s just a great guitar and easy to play... a little bit on the heavy side if your not used to it though....The action had to be set a little lower and strings needed to be changed. Just normal setup issues that are easily fixed. Other than that, all is well with this outstanding guitar.
WOW! Thats all I can say about this guitar. The tone, the finish, the pickups. I love everything about this guitar. The big thing, though, is the tone. When it comes down to it, this is the only guitar out there that recreates that Jimmy Page 1960's Les Paul growl. I bought this guitar because I am a huge Jimmy Page fan and my Fender Strat (also a great guitar) just wasn't cutting it for those heavey Zep riffs. You haven't let the Led out until you've tried this ax.
