I've been playing this guitar for about a year now--traded a Les Paul for it, and it was the best move I ever made. I have yet to play this thing somewhere that someone doesn't comment on how beautiful it is! I have the heritage cherry, and the flame on it is gorgeous! The sound is simply fantastic--it growls nicely when pushed, but sweetens up for jazzy runs. Very articulate with great harmonics, and the fastest neck I have ever played on any guitar. This guitar is destined to be one of those that people talk about in years to come...get it now b4 the price goes up (which it is almost BOUND to do!)
When I first tried to open the case the guitar came in, the default combination was changed which caused a one day headache looking for the solution. Check out Gibson's web site for the answer. My initial reaction was poor. The guitar was hard to play and the action was stiff. I had the unit set up by a professional who shaved the nut and lowered the bridge, straightened the neck and set the intonation. Now it plays like the dream I thought Gibson would make.
Beautiful. It's a piece of art actually. I almost made my husband hang it in the family room instead of my office because I just want to look at it and touch it all the time. Every time I pick it up I never put it down until I physically cannot play anymore.
