A master designer and flute maker himself, Gemeinhardt spent years custom-building some of the world's most sought-after flutes. He finally emigrated from Switzerland to Elkhart, Indiana, where he designed flutes for 20 years before opening his own factory.

A fantastic value for a performance-class instrument, it is an open-hole model (French model) featuring an ergonomic offset G key for less playing stress and greater familiarity to players just graduating from a student model flute. The offset G makes playing fast passages easier and also makes it easier to cover the open hole with the finger. A solid silver headjoint produces a warm, resonant tone with clean, precise response. The gold-plated lip plate is hypoallergenic, feels nicer than silver, and provides a very luxurious look. Silver plated body and foot joint are visually stunning and durable, maintaining precision alignment of the keys. Low B footjoint increases the instrument's range and improves the pitch of low C.
