"years of good service says it all" by B

I got my Gemeinhardt model 3 as a birthday gift from my parents after my first year of band. I used it in school ensembles from 6th grade through 12th, won 3 superior ratings for solos at county competitions, attended master classes, summer music clinics, and used it for private performances. It is only now with finishing college and deciding to take up playing seriously again that I am upgrading to a new instrument. For a flute that I played pretty regularly from fall 1989 to summer 2003, the only damage that wasn't caused by me dropping it is the wearing away of the silver plating on the open hole keys where my fingers rest, and some minor pitting on the embouchure plate. I will likely upgrade to a different model Gemeinhardt, and I definitely recommend the brand to new players. Oh, and it is also made in the U.S.A.

"no regrets at all " by Joseph Canisius Dias

I fell in love with the flute instantly. Once the pads had settled in after a few weeks, all problems playing the low notes disappeared. Practicing on this instrument has become a pleasure due to the deep tone and wonderful vibrations felt at the fingertips through the open holes. Upgrading from a closed hole flute (gemmy 2sp) to the open hole was the best decision I made. Playing this flute is "therapeutic" and I always turn to it for a perfect lifting of the spirits! Even my teacher, who plays a Muramatsu, was jealous of the tone.

I'm satisfied with this flute that I bought for my daughter. I must say, though, that when I play a high "C" the sound is a little distorted. For the price I paid, I thought maybe I would be a little more satisfied.

"Buy this instrument!" by Ann

I played this instrument once because I borrowed it from a teacher when I had accidently left mine at home. It had a beautiful sound and projected very nicely. Even though she'd had it since she was in high school it played nicely and that means it is a very durable instrument. I hope to buy the Gemeinhardt 3B within the year, and I am looking forward to it so much!
