The case is open slightly up there by the tuning keys. It is not thoroughly tight. It's strong enough. I stood on it just to see what happened. Nothing. The full closure of the case is my problem. Whoever placed the latches in the design process needs to reevaluate their skills. I bought this thing just in case I had to check my very expensive Martin. I think it will do fine. I'm just not happy with the "fit and finish" of this otherwise strong case.

"Solid, *really snug* case"

From what I can tell from having this a couple weeks and not abusing it yet, this is a really solidly built case. All the hardware is heavy gauge, the ABS plastic seems sturdy, it's got a feeling of 'heft' without being too heavy. I like it a lot. Again, I haven't flown with it or kicked it to see what would happen. One thing, tho: it is VERY snug on my Sigma guitar. At first I thought I would have to send it back... but if I get it perfectly lined up I can squeeze it in. I know this is a good thing for travel to prevent bouncing around inside the case, and I suspect it will loosen up slightly over time. Still, if you have any concerns about the size of your guitar (...) I'd check the fit before buying. One other thing - be sure to register your case to validate the warranty. The process is silly - you go to teh website and fill out a warranty *claim* to register. Only takes a couple minutes once you figure that part out. Cheers
