Fostex David Jones Drums Volume 1
This CD series was designed to help songwriters. Included are drum tracks with a happening groove and ambience that 2 and 4 bar loops are unable to provide. These solo drum tracks are complete songs created in the style of contemporary pop hits. Each song has been recorded a number of times with variations, then separated into intros, verses, choruses and endings. All you have to do is import the files to create your stereo drum track with the fills and and ambience of a studio-recorded drum session. The applications for these files are limitless. The hits are broken down into 5 styles:
•Ballad: Recorded at 70BPM and played in the style of current pop ballad hits, including odd phrase lengths and power drum fills. •BusyBoy Recorded at 87BPM with busy snare rhythm. This sound is very popular at the moment with artists like Shawn Mullins, Matchbox 20, and Oasis. •Uptempo: Recorded at 120BPM. This one is fast, mean, and aggressive, with big drum fills and off-beat patterns. The large amount of choices of intros, choruses, and verses make this very easy and inspiring to use. •PopSound: Recorded at 90BPM with a more gentle approach, this selection emphasizes the bass drum and hi-hat patterns, very similar in style to the Corrs, Natalie Imbruglia, etc. •StraightAhead: Recorded at 116BPM and designed to keep it nice and simple, with emphasis on strong backbeat and contemporary drum fills, in the style of Sting, Steely Dan, and Phil Collins.
The drums are provided by Australia's David Jones, one of the world's great drummer/percussionists who has worked with a wide variety of international superstars, including John Denver, Stevie Wonder, Seals & Crofts, as well as popular Australian artists from the blues phenom Nathan Cavaleri, long-standing rockers Dragon, pop stars Debra Byrne and Peter Cupples, amongst others.
