Fender Super Champ XD Guitar Combo Amp
The Super Champ® guitar amp of the early 1980s was an up-to-the-minute take on the venerable Fender® Champ® amplifier. It contained a powerful 10" speaker, large for a Champ; its all-tube overdrive capabilities were further enhanced by the inclusion of genuine Fender reverb. Bottom line, it had incredible gain and volume in a compact package a real surprise for guitarists who were accustomed to hauling much larger amps to the studio or rehearsal hall.

The Super Champ® XD amplifier enters a new era by combining a real tube amp with up-to-date "extras" like versatile amp voicing and a wide palette of quality effects. There's no limit to the number of tones that can be coaxed from this little firecracker, so practice and recording sessions really come alive with the Fender Super Champ XD amp.

I bought the Fender Champ XD and I must say, Nice Amp! It has that great tube sound plus the different voices and effects. It can be loud, it can be clean, it can be dirty! I've fallen in love with my Strat all over again, and my old Guild sings soooo sweetly.....this amp is good for beginners, a practice amp for experts, or an excellent toy for old farts like me...LOL Thank you Fender.....the Champ XD is just that...A champ!!!!

I was looking for a portable amp to play on but didn't want to settle for solid state. This amp was affordable and the right size. It's 25 watts are more then enough and this amp could probably work as a small gigging amp as well. It plays just like a tube amp should has great versatility with it's 2 channels and 16 amp models and on board effects (which are very very easy to dial in). My only real beef with it is that on the modeling channel it seems to have a built in noise gate with cuts your sustain when your trying to let a note ring out. Amazing beginner amp / powerful tool for the advanced player.

This amp must be the most versatile with the greatest tone in its price range. The clean channel is warm and bright, and the 2nd channel has some great models. Crank the gain on that channel and get some wonderful, natural tube break-up. Some of the effects are wonderful (try the reverb w/ delay...it's perfect), and others leave something to be desired (the tremolo is really choppy for my taste), but it meets my needs perfectly since I'm running through a stocked pedal-board anyway. It doesn't have the deep warmth of a larger blues deluxe (the other amp I was looking at), but it is definitely more versatile and you can really push those tubes without getting excessively loud. If you're looking for tube tone with some extra features and don't want to spend a fortune, buy this amp!

If you need a small practice amp that you can carry around to practice, this is your amp. This amp weighs about 24 pounds, which was way lighter than my other amp. Plus you get a lot of versatility with the effects and the 16 voices on top of the clean channel. I can bring one amp to practice to play both my acoustic and my electric guitar. You can play an electric-acoustic through the "Acoustasonic" simulated channel, which sounds very nice. The other 15 channels have some very usable sounds for just about any style of electric guitar. And for more versatility, you can just run something like a Pod into the clean channel and get whatever you want. The tube adds warmth to the clean channel. Turning up the gain gives some nice distortion. This little guy puts out a lot of volume. There are some nice effects built in too. I like the reverb with delay. The chorus is decent as well. There is a little hum, but if it bothers you it is easily taken care of with a hum eliminator. I got mine on sale at Guitar Center and the price was right. Its definately an underrated amp especially once you realize what you can do with it. This is probably the ultimate practice amp.

First the good. Sound effects are pretty descent. The amp is light weight good construction and even came with Electro H. tubes. The power cord is detachable which is a nice feature as well. The bad. Two plug outlets in theback are plastic and front knobs seem to be a cheaper plastic. Speaker could have been better as well. Having said both the good and the bad you do get a great amp for the price.
