"On Par With It's USA Counterpart!!!"

I recently purchased the Artic White model with the rosewood fretboard and to be honest, I was pleasantly pleased with my purchase. You see, I had bought a Sunburst model back in 2006 when it was announced that the Mexican Standards were getting all of the upgrades,so I had no choice but to go and buy one. For the last 3 years, that was my main guitar, which I've used at plenty of shows with out any problems whatsoever. Now this one comes along and just blows away my 2006 Sunburst baby clear right out of the water. First of all,the Vintage 70's style logo on the headstock is just way too cool and the finish on the neck cries out "vintage". Also having the serial numbers on the back of the headstock is a great idea. The Artic White finish is one that I've always liked, being very reminiscient of Ritchie Blackmore's Classic Deep Purple Strat. Now concerning the sound, this guitar cannot get any better as far as I'm concerned. The tone of this guitar is sweet and the action on it plays just like butter. I know that some people have complained about the recent price hike but trust me, it was well worth it. The neck edges are very smooth with no burrs sticking out at all and the action was set up just right without having to set the intonation at all, which was a first for these Mexican models. I would put this up against it's USA made counterpart any day of the week. It's that good of a guitar, I guarantee it. Fender has done it again and my hat is off to them. Viva Le Mexico!

"Just as expected"

Guitar arrived in perfect condition. No dents, scratches, nothing. The factory setup wasn't good, or conditions changed the neck's shape etc. on the way. Doesn't matter. After a little truss rod, and some string height adjustments, the guitar was in perfect condition. No tremolo problems, no intonation problems, nothing at all. The guitar gives you just what you expect from a stratocaster. With a set of noiseless pickups or 69' custom shops, this thing will fly!

"Fender Standard Strat"

The Fender Standard or Mexican Strat is an excelleent place to start for anyone wanting a Fender but unable to afford a signature model. While the setup is not as good as a higher priced model, (mine had to be professionally adjusted for height and intonation) the guitar is of high quality for the price. The only down fall are the pickups which are easily upgradeable (I chose Carvin for mine) which makes a world of difference. in the sound. The strings you select as replacements also affect playability and recommend lightgauge bullets for ease of play. For tone, choose a set with the G string wound since this string sounds tinny. I have an early model that later issues improved upon such as the solid bridge block to improve on tone and tuning stability. All in all, a great value easily upgradfeable in a high quality assembly.

The guitar has the same feel as the american for a much cheaper price tag, it doesnt stay tuned well, but I changed the machine heads to grovers, and the pickups to tx specials, now it sounds amazing for a much cheaper price tag than the tx special strat, or the american and plays even better than either of them!!!

I have a midnight wine one and it is beautiful. Its tone is weak though. This guitar doesn't stay tuned. It's really comfortable to sit with though. The strap it came with had problems staying on.
