Fender G-DEC Guitar Digital Entertainment Center
With its amplification system, the GDEC makes practice sessions sound like a full band! It's as easy to learn as a video game. Beginners can plug in an electric guitar for the very first time and have fun; experienced guitarists love using G-DEC to solo over backing tracks, or to get songwriting ideas. The G-DEC is part of the innovative product category: Guitar Entertainment Centers.

The G-DEC is a 15-Watt combo amplifier with an 8" Special Design speaker. It has the familiar appearance of a Blackface Fender amp with special ultra-modern features added, such as a digital LCD display interface screen. It was designed from the ground up by the same Fender tone-team that brought you everything from the entry-level Frontman series to our flagship Cyber-Twin SE. In addition to a great variety of tones and effects, the G-DEC includes desirable features never seen before in a guitar amplifier.

If making music is not fun, then no one will make it. Thanks to the Fender team for putting together a nice little drum machine/loop into an amp and keeping it fun. Finally I get to stop playing drums in my head or using a metronome. Although the loop is somewhat limited It is great to play along with. I was looking into an affordable way to connect a drum machine to my amp and discovered G-DEC. After the purchase, I was blown away with the actual performance (which held up to fenders on line demo, read the manual too it helps). This setup is as close to playing with a bunch of friends in a steady groove on a Sunday afternoon, that you can get. It helps your rhythm &/or create solos by providing good rhythms & chord progression loops to play on top of. I even used the loop to practice a few fiddle solos. Not to create a debate..I read someone complaining about how important it is that kids spend time hearing themselves play alone. yeah yeah. We all knew this type of person who played with themselves too much-ha ha. No one should minimize the best aspects like providing a drum beat and accompanying chord progressions. They also complained about that horrible thing called Tablature which made it easier for us to learn quick and fun! God Bless Fender & G-DEC ! Keeping it fun and real !

Having viewed Fender`s demo of this unit on their website I can honestly say they have a winner here. My questions about a line out were answered and the video demos are awesome. This is the best gift you could give to a young student looking for a learning tool or person who wants a jam alone device. I plan on getting one for my 11 yr. old daughter because it has many sounds that a younger player desires and I believe it will hold her interest for the long run. I was skeptical until I checked out Fender`s demo. I`m not waiting for cheaper copycat versions by whoever. If you are really interested in this unit you owe it to yourself to check out Fender`s website and watch all the demos of the G-DEC. I think Fender could easily get the price a little lower($269+tax=@$300 bucks)and still make a nice profit.

I just received this amp and after I read the directions on how to use it, I was up and playing like I never have before. It was actually fun to practice. You can do a lot with such a small amp. All I can say, if you buy one... you aren't wasting your money. Don't let the size fool you.

Recently bought the G-Dec, great to jam by yourself or with a buddy. Nothing compares to the pre-recorded bass and drum loops. They make for a great jam time. What's cool is I can plug up my iPod and jam along with a song. I take it every where, it very tough amp and is very efficient. The one thing I don't like is that the gain, bass, ect. are all digitally controlled as the drum and bass loops are. I recommend this practice amp for beginners or experts. It's great for everyone.

After reading the ads and viewing the Fender website demos, I was prompted to test out the G-DEC. I played on the G-DEC for a good 20 minutes before I realized the time had passed and decided I HAD to own it. For its compact size and weight plus all of the features, sounds and tones are great. This amp takes the place of a floor full ofeffect stomp boxes, a bass player, drum machine or drummer, excess instrument cables and cords. I've owned my G-DEC for two weeks now and have played endless hours on it. I can honestly say that in my quest to find a great accompaniment, backing, or drum beat, and guitar effects, my G-DEC hasn't failed me yet!!! I found the manual rather brief at first, however quite informative once I learned how-to navigate the menu screens. The digital interface is really quite user friendly. Overall, this is a great sounding jam alone practice amp, and would be a great gift idea for a young student looking for a learning tool. For the price, in my opinion, it's an excellent investment compared to other guitar amps within the same price range offering less features. If Fender ever does produce a larger and louder version I will probably buy it. Adding foot pedal technology to change the sound presets, and control the starting/stopping or fading of the drums and backing tracks would be awesome!!!
