Spent about 45 minutes trying the fR48 out and was very impressed. Has the right "honk" for a resonator. Neck felt nice, fret work clean, workmanship seemed nice. Played two different ones and they both seemed consistent in quality. This seems to me to be a much nicer resonator than the FR50s which, to me, just doesn't have the sound and the quality doesn't seem nearly as good.
i believe this guitar has a great sound. im a new guitar player, but i love this guitar, and i play it whenever i can.
This guitar is perfect for those who want to get that National sound without that high price tag. It's chrome so you don't have to worry about it going green like brass. The sound is amazing and super loud when it has to be. The Fender "F" holes are a nice touch. This guitar stands out in the crowd of wooden resos. Buy it, you will never want to put it down.
This guitar has outstanding resonator sound. Its playability is as close to a National as I've found anywhere. String spacing and string height are perfectly balanced for both slide and fingering. Simply put, I'd recommend saving the $2K and purchasing this rather than the National!
My FR48 sounds fantastic. I generally prefer american products, but this thing is a tank. I suspect it will be around long after I am gone.
