I love this guitar! It plays fast and sounds very good. The stratomatic 5 way switch really keeps you interested because of the variations of tone and volume.

If you want the versatility of a strat, but don't want to look like everyone else or appreciate the tele tone better buy this guitar. You can get amazing tonal variations from that extra pickup they threw in the middle. I am very picky about my guitars. When I bought this I was really in the market for a fender guitar, but I hate the tele tone and wanted a little more variation out of my guitar for melodic parts. It was a tossup between the jag and this tele. I picked the tele because of the fixed/non-floating bridge (and it was cheaper with the same good tone) I've been playing this guitar 4 months now and I use it on everything. It is the best guitar for variable music I have ever played.

"I Love the Blackout Tele"

I've been wanting a Tele for a while now, but I just loved the versatility of my Strat. Immensely playable, the Blackout Tele is the best of both worlds. The extra pickup and Strat-style switching gives this Tele some bite and a lot more tonal range than your standard. The neck feels great and with 9's you can get some nice bends on it. I play through a 30 watt Marshall solid state and it sounds fantastic. Great playabilty and tone. A really good deal!
