I love this guitar. I waited for over a month before writing this, as I wanted the ônewnessö to wear off. My other Strat, a Highway One, outfitted with a Duncan Hot Rails neck, LiÆl 59 in the middle and a Pearly Gates humbucker in the bridge is a great sounding guitar. My new American Deluxe with the S1 switching and three SC single coils is every bit as good sounding but in a very different way. I play through a Blues Jr., a Hot Rod Deluxe and a Princeton 65, but this thing really sounds the best through a tube amp. The build quality is excellent and I have no complaints whatsoever. I bought mine in 3-tone sunburst with a rosewood neck and I have to admit, as good looking as it is, it does show smudges and minute scratches easily. The American and the Highway 1Æs are great guitars, but the Deluxe is much better in looks, feel and sound. All in all, I'm very pleased and if I had to do it all over again, I'd still buy this guitar. One last thing û this guitar comes with the standard American series, made in China, plastic hard-shell case which is, in my opinion, a piece of junk. Spend the extra $120.00 and get the tweed American made case. It looks great and is an all around better case.

I bought the Fender American Deluxe strat based upon how well I liked the American Deluxe Tele that I already had. This ax shows that Fender has not changed on the quality of American products they make. I have a Gibson Les Paul Classic, American Deluxe Tele, Ibanez Artcore 73, and now the American Deluxe Strat. I chose the three tone sunburst because it reminds me of my youth back in the 60.s. All of my guitar are special and I use each one for a certain sound. I am proud to enter this ax into my collection. I use a Fender twin deluxe reverb all tubes, a Kustom 100 watt head with a full stack, and even a cheap Fender 212R. I have 7 pedals and a DigiTech RP 200. With this ax I can get all kinds of sounds. The S-1 system just adds icing to the cake. Buy it, you won't be sorry. Take this from a guy who has been playing for 42 years.

I went into my local guitar shop on Friday to check out the Fender American Deluxe HSS model and I thought it was great. I went back into the shop on Monday and and it was gone, I was disappointed. My father said "Just play a guitar since you're in here". So I picked up the Fender American Strat, all single coils with a S-1 switching system and I was blown away, I am glad that I didn't buy the HSS model. This guitar has a much nicer tone, I got a rosewood fingerboard, and an Amber colored body. The finish is amazing. The playability is also amazing because I can do many things up and down the neck as quick as possible. Each noiseless Single Coil Pick-Up are great, no hum what so ever. The inlays on the fingerboard look stylish.I am really pleased with this guitar. If you don't really like the colors available then just pick up one with great sound, just like I did. You won't regret this.
