The new instruments in the American Deluxe Series, such as this Precission Bass, are the epitome of classic Fender craftsmanship, combining the most innovative of today's technologies with the finest materials available to create a beautiful, timeless series of guitars that musicians will cherish for years to come.

To faithfully capture the characteristic sounds that Fender guitars are known for, each instrument in the new American Deluxe Series comes equipped with different configurations of the newly designed Fender Samarium Cobalt Noiseless (SCN) pickups. Designed by legendary pickup designer Bill Lawrence, who worked closely with Fender's engineering team, the new SCN pickups utilize miniature Samarium Cobalt magnets and special alloy pole pieces to create a noiseless pickup that is both responsive and articulate. Combined with Fender's acclaimed S-1 switching, which comes equipped on every guitar in the American Deluxe Series, the new SCN pickups bring a near endless array of superior tones and pickup configurations that even further defines that "Fender sound" like never before.

"Lots of tonal variations from a high-end classic!"

The new 2004 American Deluxe Precision is a stunning piece of Fender's craftsmanship. With its P-style neck pickup and a Bill Lawrence J-Bass humbucker in the bridge position, coupled with a 18V-powered, 3-band active EQ, this gorgeous bass offers tons of tonal variations. Equipped with deluxe Lite-Bass tuning machines and a Deluxe string-through=body/top-load bridge, the American Deluxe P-Bass now comes shipped with new sexy finishes. A pretty example is the Montego Black P-Bass with the gold vynil anodized scratchplate: the maple-neck model looks much like an American Vintage '57 Precision, while the rosewood-neck variant, is faithfully modeled after the Custom Shop's legendary '59 P-Bass re-issue.

Man does this bass rock! Its beautiful and loud! The awesome classic Pbass tone of a Fender has never been better than ever. And with active electronics I swear you can get any sound you want. The finishes are all so beautiful, but I chose mine in montego black with a rosewood fretboard.

Bought a brand new one in 1996.Very good bass.Just the varnish that particularly flakes between the nut and the 5th fret (my bad I guess) but sandpaper it (400) and play again and again !
