This amp was used by legends like Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead and is currently used by Trey of Phish. The Deluxe Reverb is a must for anyone looking for tone. Is this one a reissue or the real deal? If it is a reissue, is the circuitry the same as the classics?
Power is not an issue with this amp. I turn it up halfway, and its more than enough playing with a heavy handed drummer and a loud bass player. Ultra clean and shimmery tone until around 6 or 7, then it starts to get dirty, and really loud. I get some kickin rockabilly tones out of here with my tele, delay, and ibanez tubescreamer. You just can't go wrong with this one.
I have used this amp although I do not have it yet and it was amazing how huge and pure Fender tone this amp can produce. Some may find that 22 watts are not that much...well they are WRONG!!!!In a studio it is a beast!! For small or medium gigs ...also a beast. If you like pure overdriven tube sound this is the one!!! All others are just toys.It is perfect with my Fender Vintage 52 Tele and anyone that is fond of the blues, country fingerpicking style and hard rock, may find the perfect partner in this amp. A must have!!!!!
Bought mine a few years back brand new (and cheep too). I play a Les Paul Deluxe (mini hummers), Les Paul Special (P-90s), Marauder (DiMarzio Hummers), Fender Mustang, Yamaha Pacifica, through it. Sounds killer with all of them. Saturates so fine with hot pickups. You really don't need effects, it sounds that good by itself. Overdrives into a world of tone all it's own. Why do you think everybody has at least one of these laying around somewhere. Fixin' to buy another just to stack 'em. Loud as hell. NOT for heavy metal (unless Dan Torres gets ahold of it for you). Best sound on the planet. Believe it.
This is exactly the sound I've been searching for. I've picked up and sold several amps and several guitars. I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio and a Wechter accoustic/electric. Both sound incredible through this amp. I couldn't be happier with the warm tube sound. The reverb is beautiful. This amp kicks out the volume and it's portable. I thought about picking up a twin but believe me, this amp is plenty loud. My ears ring if I go above 3 to 3.5. If you need something louder than this, you're going to have a PA system anyway. Highly recommend. If you get a Deluxe, you'll be happy you did.
