UPSIDE: The bridge pick up has a lot of pop to it and depending on the tone level, it can give off that cutting through glass wail or a meaty twang. The neck pickup can sound either jazzy or almost acoustic-like if you play with the settings enough. Running both the pickups together produces an outstanding rock and roller vibe. The neck shape is extremely accommodating and the fretwork is super. I can't tell from the specs here and the name isn't quite the same as the Fender site but it should have the threaded saddles instead of the smooth brass saddles. At least, mine has the threaded saddles and they play great. The threads, while not great looking, manage to keep the strings perfectly aligned and don't cause any wear and tear problems. The ashtray lip is also pretty comfortable to use when your muting strings etc. DOWNSIDE The only problem I've had with this guitar is that the chrome on the volume and tone knobs has started to bubble off a bit. Now, my guitar is 10 year-old Japanese model and I think the year it spent in my parents basement up north while I was in college caused the chrome problem. Anyway, I just followed Muddy Waters' lead and replaced the knobs with a couple of black Strat tone and volume knobs. USES This guitar excels at your basic rock and roll. Roots rock, country honk, blues, punk etc bleed from the Tele.
