Fender '64 Jazz Bass Closet Classic Imagine cleaning out an old closet and finding a vintage 1969 Fender Stratocaster at the bottom in great condition. What a find that would be. Well, for those of us who have yet to come across one, there is an alternative: the '64 Jazz Bass. It conjures up images of every classic electric group one can think of.
This particular model has been meticulously built to replicate the original, this model features an solid alder body, maple neck with round, laminated rosewood fingerboard, brown shell pickguard, and original spec pickups. However, to give it a little more "broken-in" style, the Closet Classic has been specially created to look like it was bought new in its respective year, played perhaps a few times a month, wiped off and put carefully away after each use. The Closet Classic has the "natural glow" of a well taken care of vintage guitar with moderate playing wear, a few small "dings", lightly checked finish, oxidized hardware, and aged plastic parts. But the sound is as clean as it would have been if it had just come off the line back in 1964.
