I got the black ones. They stick on the head fine, and prolong the life. They will soften the attack SLIGHTLY, but I use triggers anyway so I dont care. (I gotta have a click in my bass drum to cut through the massive metal guitar riffs) Im sure if you are using mics just up the Mids and Highs a little more and you should be ok (although nothing beats DDRUM PRO Triggers) They do their job and keep you from losing your head to soon. And they are CHEAP!!! grab a couple packs at a time, you always want to have extras. You get 2 patches per order, its a great deal.
Well, old Moleskin patches are a thing of the past...or so it seems...with protective patches from those who knows drum heads better: manufactures. I am sure Evans' patch will provide the level of protection I used to heavily rely with the old Moleskin standby products...
