Got this head yesterday and it has already exceded my high expectations. i have a entry level set and the bass drum sounded horrible with the original head, even with a blanket inside. when i bought this i was expecting to still need to dampen the resonant head but after some precise tuning i got the perfect, low end sound i was looking for. i had my band come over and they loved it as well. if you're looking for a professional, low end sound on any quality of bass drum, buy this head.

I have to say at this point that this is the best sounding bass drum head I have ever used either in a 20" or 22". I have received several compliments about the killer sound my bass drum has. My formula is the Evans EMAD 2 on the batter side and a Powerstroke 3 on the Resonant side. This seems to work well for me as I play Hard Rock and some Metal style music. I highly recomment this head and when Music 123 has an accessory sale, well that's even better.

This IS the Holy Grail of Bass Drum batter heads. The difference is instantly audible between the typical single ply standard head that comes on a bass drum from the manufacturer and the EMAD 2. You pick the degree of dampening with the different ring inserts. I also topped off my EMAD 2 head with a pdp bass drum pillow and MAN what a difference!!! That bass drum of mine no longer "rings"... now it "SINGS" It thuds like a cannon, and I was happy to put that single ply head on the shelf forever!
