These strings are awesome. No matter what style of music I'm playing they sound great. The bass strings have a solid, powerful sound. The trebles also have good sound, though they I probably wouldn't suggest them for an advanced player's heavy rock or metal. Great Strings!
I have played D'Adarrios and Ernies. Ernies have a nice feel, but sad to say, they do not last. Rusts in about 9-10 days.
Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys have an awesome feel and the great thing is that they have heavy top strings and skinny bottom strings, for awesome heavy riffs and sweet solos.
ernie ball strings are the best and i think any guitar player should own ernie ball hybrid slink's. i have had ernie's hybrid slinkys since the beginning of time, long time when you're only 17
I agree with the other guy, the hybrids provide a bright, clear tone, and sound very good, but they do not live for very long. I broke my E string on the first day I put them on and they started to rust after about two weeks. You can fix this with some string cleaner to prevent build up of the junk. I recommend the Dean Markley Blue Steels of the same gauge, they sound as good if not better and because of their cryogenic treatment, they last FOREVER! If EB made a treated or coated string that lasted longer than they would be unstoppable but as it stands these are good strings at a great price but you can definitely do better.
