I played guitar for many years. After suffering a stroke, I lost all ability to play. I am now relearning. After purchasing a Strat, an Ibanez and a Johnson acoustic, I found they were too difficult to play. When I saw the Wildcat I was knocked out. When I put it in my hands, things started coming back. Beautiful tones, beautiful looks, incredibly sensible price, and silky smooth to play. It's kind of like marrying a beautiful woman who can sing, cook, hunt and fish.
Since I acquired this guitar about 1 1/2 years ago, it has helped me to not only challenge myself to be more creative, but also changed my sound. There's a lot you can do with the Wildkat, and it packs big sound for a guitar that's on the smaller side. It's very comfortable to play, and has many different tones to offer. My only criticism towards it is that like with many guitars with a tremolo, the G string goes sharp sometimes. The Wildkat would really benefit from the upgrade to a roller bridge, and I think that there's one available. None the less, with some good tuning, this isn't really a problem too often. This is one cool guitar, and for the money the fit and finish is excellent.
This thing is not only beautiful, it's smooth as silk. Like butter in your hands, effortless to play. And the tone is incredible. I play through a 1 12" Bedrock tube amp and it sounds better than ever. No noise, no buzz, no rattles. The logo plate was looses when I got the guitar but I tightened the 3 screws and it's fine. The wiggle bar is great for adding expression but not made for dive bombing, you will go out of tune. I could see making some slight modifications down the road (replacing the nut) but I believe I can live with it as is for quite a while. Ask Santa for one. You won't be disappointed!
I'm a 73 yr. young picker-Not a Roy Clark or Elton John, but with short fingers and small hands. The action on the Wildkat is as good as it gets. The sounds create what you want and for a very reasonable cost. Craftsmanship is as good as any Gibson model for my money.
Looks great, sounds really great, catchy, bluesy, from aggressive to warm sound. master volume is real handy. finish is o.k., volume knobs could be better. Bigsby is great.Neck is well formed. pick-up's are great. Hollow-body, so it will "sing" easily. Used materials of neck and body are very good! Not to heavy when u are used to play a Les Paul...
