I Got this gutiar about 6 months ago, it sounds awesome whether its distortion, OD, reverb, or chours, the humbuckers are crisp and chrunchy, a great guitar for the money.
I have been playing guitar for about 2-3 years. I own seven guitars--a Gibson Les Paul, this SG Epiphone, a Fender Strat among others. This guitar is every bit as good as the Gibson. I've had the opportunity to take the tours of Gibson's factories in Nashville & Memphis. Let's just say that if you take a Gibson guitar--add the "American" costs of health-insurance for employees, benefits, union dues, taxes, etc. then what you have is a $2,400 guitar. Stripped away of the "American" influence is a guitar, made in Indonesia--manufactured by Epiphone using the EXACT same techniques as Gibson--but no benefits for employees, no health-insurance, no union dues, etc. then, "poof" you have this Epiphone. Epiphone is a Gibson and Gibson is an Epiphone. . .this guitar plays as well as my Les Paul--or should I say my Les Paul plays as well as my SG--except my Les Paul costs $2K more. Is that "LITTLE" difference worth it? Nope.
For the pricetag, this guitar is one fantasitc musical instrument. In my recent search for a new guitar, I got recommendatons for this one. I saw the price and was a little skeptical, but it turned out to be he best guitar I've ever owned. Would recommend for anybody, whether you are just starting out or play live performances, this does it all!
