I bought it because of the shape, but it packs a lot more than that. This bass stays in tune, very quiet pickups are helpful in a studio environment. It has a heavy neck, but you can get used to it. The sound is great, especially in rock music. Can't go wrong with this one. Epiphone should have more finishes available for this bass. Much, much better than a P-Bass in this price range. Simply great.
This is a great bass. I have had mine for a while and I have gigged with it a few times. I find this a gorgeous bass to use. Its got much more power and sound. Its also a lot easier to play due to the longer thinner fret board. I love this bass.
I've been plying this bass for 3 years and it has the raddist sound. I play through a G.K. 1001 rb head and an ampeg 8x10 cab. An awesome sound for all kinds of music, and it looks great on stage. I highly recommend this bass. No complaints from me and its been through a lot and still sounds killer.
I love this bass! The sound is impeccable I use it on a Hartke 100 watt and it sounds amazing.
I know that the Epiphone Thunderbird IV is one heck of a super-duper bass. When I bought this marvel of maverick musicianship I could not tell you how excited I got. SO excited.Bottom line: great bass. It always turns heads. The looks aren't it's only asset; it sounds great, too. Deep lows, punchy highs. If J.C. played bass - which he does - he'd play this.Which he does. It's only pitfall is neckdive, which a thick strap and a well-placed straplock will fix.
