I have been strumming on a Gibson hummingbird for a long...time and finally decided to get a electric guitar. I research and researched and finally decided upon the Sheraton. I must say if I don't play a single note it could be a piece of furniture...it is beautiful to look at. The sound it "WONDERFUL" it is a joy to play. If you have the bucks you won't be disappointed!

I have found this to be one of the best sounding guitars I have ever heard. It is not very often you can pick up a guitar and make it sound exactly how you want it to sound every time, for most styles of music. I normally have both pickups on with the tone all the way off. If I want more treble I turn up the bridge pickup. If I want more bass I turn up the neck pickup. Super harmonically rich tone, especially with new strings. As far as playability, I find it very comfortable to play. So much so that you find your fingers landing exactly how you want them to. Suitable for clean jazz, blues, funk, to heavy or classic rock. It just doesn't have enough sustain for anything heavier than that, unless you use effects. I will never change anything about this guitar.

I am not in any band. I play the guitar because I love it. Finding a guitar, that is not a piece of junk, for a lefty can be a challenge. Before I order this guitar, I went in to one of the biggest music/guitar stores here in Portland, Oregon. They did not have single left handed guitar in the house! This was the best Buy online. I have had a older Sheraton 2 in my hands. The Epiphone Sheraton 2 is a very NICE guitar! The finish job is 5 star all the way. They have made some upgrades from some older models. One big one is the better gold Grover tuners. They are nice and smooth, replace the others. The other big improvement is the better Gibson Humbucker pickups. A run up and down the neck is smooth as glass. It seems stay in tune ok, but with the weather we have here in the Northwest. (rain-rain-rain) it drifts a little. But at about $650 for guitar and case, it's a good buy! It's not a $3000 Gibson ES-335. But it sure looks good. My hat is off to Gibson/Epiphone for having a nice line of guitars for us lefties, and I didn't have to sell my dog to get it!

I am ambidextrous, with no dominant. You can imagine how many options I have for my playing (it's also fun to see the look of the audience's faces when they notice it during a gig.) I had seen and played the Sheraton II right handed, which is easily a five star guitar. I would compare it to a Gibson ES-335. It doesn't sound as good but looks better(in my opinion.) If you're a lefty player and have a thing for archtop or semi-hollow electrics then this is easily a good choice. It's much lighter that the Gibson ES-335 (in both weight and price) and is an excellent choice.
