I purchased an EF-500rans about a year and a half ago and it is by far my most favorite. The sound has matured so much since the day I got it and it is now the only guitar I use to play out when I do a show.I installed an LR Baggs element pickup that is used in the other Masterbilt guitars and it sounds awsome. The best thing about the guitar is the sound but the looks of it is what I really get compliments on.The outside edges of the guitar are covered with great looking abalone and the offset notch headstock and stickpin inlay are so unique and clean looking that I could just stare at it for hours.Epiphone has really found the right ingredients for a great guitar that I'll keep for the rest of my life and thats saying alot. I'll have it forever!!!!!!!

I've owned this model for about a year and it has caused me to turn my back on all of my other acoustics. I own a Taylor, a couple of Gibsons, and an old Martin with koa back and sides. However, this Epiphone beats them in every aspect. The EF looks, sounds, and records better. In addition, it receives alot more compliments. The one I have has a natural finish and I've sat and polished it so much, while watching movies, that the satin finish now has a really nice shine. Thats how addictive this guitar is. I can't even put it down long enough to watch T.V!The tone has gotten so much better since I bought it. Of course, that seems unimagineable considering it sounded so great, brand new. Bottom line, if I had to give up all but one guitar, I would definitely keep my Epiphone EF-500RANS. If you've got the money, then buy it! It's a great investment. But watch out, its highly addictive.
