Epiphone MM-20 Mandolin
Besides bluegrass, rockers over the years have turned to the mandolin to add a mountain-fresh pluckiness to their sound. You can hear a mandolin on recordings by Jethro Tull, Rod Stewart, and R.E.M. to name some obvious examples. So do like the pros and add a mandolin to your string arsenal.

I purchased this instrument to try my hand at mandolin, being a guitar and fiddle player made this instrument (the mandolin) a logical choice for my next challenge. The finish is beautiful and the action is very playable. There is no buzzing. The sound is clear and bright even with the factory strings. The MM-20 has a truss rod which should, in theory, extend the playable life of the instrument --I'd read that without a truss rod eventually the neck will begin to bow under the force of the strings. The tuners seem to be quite decent and keep the strings in tune despite serious picking with a medium gauge pick. I have no complaints about the MM-20 to date as I've only had it for a few weeks but it remains the same or gets better (due to wood age) I'll be thrilled. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and at this price I don't see how one could go wrong. Well worth the dosh! Thanks for reading.
