This is one of the best guitars I have ever played. I have played a few strats and more expensive les pauls and I would compare this guitar with any of them. My friend likes my guitar better than his strat and thinks of excuses to play mine instead. The amp is pretty good for coming with a starter package. I just wish it had reverb. The fretboard is extremely smooth and the pickups are good, what else could you want?
I recommend this guitar package to beginners who just want a cool guitar pack to start off with. The guitar is a nice. I prefer it over the squire because you can get more variety of sounds than with the squire. The amp is pretty cool too, it's not the best but it'll get the job done. Plus the price is awesome. Altogether this is a sweet deal.
This guitar would be great for any player.
I got this guitar about 2 years ago. About 6 months later, things started falling apart. The plug-in hole with some hardware had broken off, the switcher sometimes doesn't work on rhythm, and it NEVER stays in tune if you have it in your bag. For beginners its an ok guitar, but if I knew, I wouldn't have bought it.
The guitar produces a very sweet tone. The 2 open coil humbuckers can produce various sounds for any type of music. They are excellent. Don't buy into the Squier hype as Squiers are only the cheap versions of fenders and can't even compare. The brightness of the Squier tone almost makes it sound cheap where as the Epiphone has a sweet and bright tone which is just great. The guitar has a nice sturdy feel to it and is heavy. The construction leaves a little to be desired as well as the amp. This guitar is comfortable and plays well with anything. The equipment that comes with the guitar is pretty decent. Excellent value. This package far exceeds the quality of any guitar or package in this price range. I highly recommend it! The ebony version is beautiful.
