This bass is great. I'm a professional bass player playing metal and blues. I love the tonal quality I get from both pickups. The bridge really howls. I played an e.b.o.in high school that was a Gibson, but the long scale of this bass really rocks and I don't care what country it came from the attention to detail is great!Fantastic bass for the price.
I just purchased the EB3 and it is great! The neck is very skinny so it has easy playability. The action on the neck is perfect. For the price this bass guitar is definitely worth it.
Having played the real 60's series and the new Gibsons, I'll take the Epiphone for looks, quality and sound. Can't beat it.
This bass is awesome for the price.I tried this bass out along with a Standard P-bass and a Standard Jazz Bass. The neck on the EB-3 is smaller than the P-Bass and about the same size as the Jazz. This makes the bass easy to play while singing at the same time. However the tones I can get out of this thing range from screeching twangs to milky growls. It's amazing. Also, for all of you CREAM fans, this bass is the best for those classic songs.
The long scale Epiphone EB3 will likely be my next addition to my growing guitar collection. I nearly scored a Gibson EB3, 10 years ago, but due to circumstances beyond my control I had to give up on the lay-away. Although my aural experience is with the Gibson, I'm sure the Epiphone will do just fine. Of course I'll play some Jack Bruce/Cream stuff, but my reasoning for wanting a long scale EB3 is a tad beyond "wanting to emulate Jack Bruce."
